Default Torsion Bar Crank Help

So after viewing what seems like hundreds of posts on cranking the torsion bars to level out the front end I've decided to go ahead and do it to my truck. However after getting under my truck and trying to I couldn't get the darn bolts to turn. I sprayed WD-40 and let it soak and they wouldn't budge. Now granted I was doing this without jacking up the front end but I read that was optional. Would it be easier if I did? Also where should I place the jack if I do? I'm not sure if I trust the standard scissor jack to raise the whole front end since to my knowledge it was only designed to raise one wheel at a time for changing a tire. There's a bar just to the front of the torsion bar that looks like it's connected to the frame (sorry I'm sort of a noob at this) can I jack from here with the standard jack or would I be better off purchasing a floor jack? Or am I just being a b***h and need to crank harder on the wrench (any harder and it felt like the bolt or the wrench was going to snap) Thank you!

Lifting it would help take weight off but what are you cranking the nuts with?
On my Dakota I cranked mine with a 1/2" drive ratchet and a three foot snipe.

Maybe you need a bigger snipe.

Use PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench.... they have been proven to work better than WD-40.....

You can also use a 50/50 mix of Acetone and ATF+4 Trans. fluid... works better than any of the stuff mentioned above....

Where's the best place to jack in order to unload the suspension on both sides? The crossmember? (I think that's what the bar is just to the front of the torsion bar)

There is actually a plate under the motor and trans (right between the two) that you can jack up on... a small square block of wood helps keep it stable when jacking. Also remember that most jacks move the truck towards you when jacking to align it so that if it slips forward it will still be in full contact with the plate.

Then put your jack stands under there as needed... most people just try and rent some time a local shop to use their lift to do lift kits... but it's up to you.

If I remember right I also had my feet up against the frame to initially break the bolts loose. I did mine while the truck was on the ground.
Bounce your front end after adjustment to settle it and I put a four foot level on the box side to set my truck level.
Be sure to level side to side also so your not sitting crooked.

Thanks for the help guys. I picked up some pb blaster so I'm gonna spray that on 3 times a day for the next few days to help loosen those bolts then get under there again with a breaker bar with a metal pipe for some extra leverage. I rather not jack it up since I don't want to keep taking it off jack stands to lower it and measure.

Have another NEW bolt ready to put in... b/c you'll prolly snap that one off in the process.... but I wouldn't put the old one back in if it's seized up that badly...
