Default head stuck to block

so I am working on a 2002 ram 1500 4.7. I have all the bolts out of the head, chain guides and exhaust manifold been pulling and pulling and its not budging a buddy told me spray edge with wd40 and that will seep in and help break it apart so ive been doing that and using a chunk of wood and hammer like the book says and nothing seems to be working. Am i missing something? any ideas and thought is appreciated.

dont really wanna pry on it and hurt anything but do you think if i could get a screw driver started in between the head and block it would hurt anything?

It Could mess up the mating surface of the head Cause it Aluminum so its soft you could try it like on rear upper corner and see but be careful with it

Yeah, that aluminum won't like being invaded. Maybe a heat gun? Heat it up a bit and try the wood block/hammer method again? I have some plastic chisels, but I doubt plastic would be sturdy enough.

I am not super worried about the head because i have another to put back on but would like to be able to sell these so don't want to mess these up too bad, more worried about the block. Is there some kind of spray designed to dissolves gaskets? I will have to try the heat gun later on today probably right on the plastic chisels but I'm willing to try anything.

Even if you're going to discard the head, the block is still vulnerable. Don't gouge any material you're not going to mill away anyway.

Try a dead blow mallet. You can hit the head directly, it won't damage it. I would not use anything metal to pry under the head and block. You could try some gasket remover spray. I know its been asked, but maybe have another set of eyes check to make sure you didn't miss a bolt.
