Default 2008 Ram 1500 -left rear door - lock and interior light not working

Hey guys. Seems I have some sort of wiring issue on the left rear door. The power window works but no interior light when door opens and lock isn't working. An idea what to check maybe it in the wiring harness?

I'd check the door switch for the light. For the locks, do you mean that particular door lock button does not work? The main control panel at the drivers door, the FOB or all of those, or some work some dont?

The power door lock isn't working. You have to manually open it. The interior light and power lock both stopped working at the same time.

When I say interior light I mean when you open door the light isn't coming on when it is supposed to.

take off the door panel, then get into the interior of the door by carefully cutting the adhesive strip holding the plastic in place with a razor knife. The wire harness going through the boot from the door to the truck chassis is most likely broken and you have to pull back the boot and careful disconnect the wire and work it back so you get enough slack to cut and repair it. I had to do this to my 1 ton, lost the speakers too. I suggest you make a project of it and check all 4 doors, I'd lay odds, you'll find others too

so the only way to get that boot off to find the wires that need repair is to remove the door panel?

Yes. The door lock mechanism and door switch (for the light) are all integrated into the latch. If it's not a broken wire then the entire mechanism needs to be replaced. Had the same thing happen to my '02 R/R door.

Yah, biggest problem is getting slack, and that means getting the connection plugs off the switches. That's how I went at it, but I was aslo installing new speakers and had broken speaker wires also.
