Default Puddle light hook up 04 1500

I've got an 04 1500 that I'd like to put some puddle lights on. My question, is where can I draw power from to have them go on when the lights go on. It's my understanding the switch it actually inside the door integrated in into the latch assembly and I cannot grab power from that. So where can I grab power from? I was thinking about running the wire up to the lights in the ceiling in the front. I want them to only come on when the doors are opened.

If 'n it were me, I'd run them their own power and use a relay wired to the door pin wire. This way they are separate and fused on their own, just using the tap into the door light wire to trigger the relay on and off.

They are attached to the door pin. Easier to remove it and tie into the wires there.

Find the pin. It's not there obviously.

Here's the problem. The light switch is part of the Door latch. It appears that the cable going to the door latch is just a ground.

I've got Mopar M (well they used to be, now it's just a light) puddle lights in my step bars wired to the dome light wire in the A pillar.

Yes. Door switches make and break the ground to operate.

So, I've sort of figured out what I want to draw power from, but I also want to patch into the ground on the door latch so these lights go on and off with the interior lights when the doors are opened. But I have some reservations on what wires to patch into. That being said, Here are the wires going to the door latch. Which one would be the ground I can patch into? Do I patch into the black wire? There appears to be a purple strip on that line. There are 3 others going to the plug on the door latch. See below:

I'd also like to draw the power from the power mirrors. So which wire has the constant 12V+ going thru it?
