New Here
Hello everyone. My name is Brad. I'm new on here. I've got a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 8.0L V10. I'm looking for ways to increase power and gas mileage but I can't find parts for this motor anywhere. I just recently changed the spark plugs and plug wires but that's all that's been done. I'm not sure what generation the truck is or if it's considered an SRT-10. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The 8.0 V10 is hard to find parts for. You're limited to and exhaust, intake and simple mods unfortunately. You are not an SRT-10 tho, but the good news is the 8.0 was also in the original Viper, so some parts may transfer over.
I remember a thread way back there was a guy cross referencing pistons and rods to make a stroker kit for them but I can't find that.
You should head to the 2nd gen section and for quick answers, get on a Magnum V10 facebook page. Unfortunately, forums have dwindled

Very few if any parts transfer between even the original Viper engine and the truck engine, as the truck engine is cast iron while everything in the Viper engine is aluminum and some things were redesigned because of it. I read about a V10 swap into a '97 SS/T 1500. He was able to get about 400hp out of it, but the torque was unholy.

Here's the truck I'm talking about. Covered in mud at this point though.
It's a monster on torque, just not fast. I'm wanting to make it fast but retain the torque that it has and not pay for custom fabrication. I know that's gonna be hard to do with this motor though. Does anyone know if a snorkel acts like a cold air intake since it's away from the engine compartment? Someone told me it would actually cut power since it has to pull air down the whole length of the snorkel.
