Anyone found a reason / good use for this thing? Post your pics or ideas.

It's made for a grocery bag. Many have used it to hang a trash bag (as I, on long road trips). It seems like a pretty pointless appointment now, but back then was the dawn of all the storage contraptions, so this was just one more thing. The "secret" compartment between the seats, fold out flat floors in the QC's, underseat rear storage... these were all new'ish things at that time.

 

Thats makes sense. It has always been odd to me, even in 2002!
