I drove it. Got it up to 45. CEL did NOT come back on. Drove great. Didn't dip or want to die. Check gauges light came on and unnoticed the battery gauge wasn't registering. Got home and checked the terminals, turned truck back on and check gauges light was off.

Now I'll need to drive it further cuz I only drove it about 3 miles. In recent times, the CEL would turn on or tachometer would dip within 3 miles.

I really hope i fixed my truck

Drove it again. Check gauges light on. It was the battery gauge. Got home. Shut it off. Turned back on, wouldn't start. Got a new battery today. Replaced it. Still low on the gauge. Gonna run tests on the alternator. BUT the CEL stayed off. I sure hope I don't have a wiring issue.

Check connections at the alternator first.

Yeah I'll do that. It's frustrating. So I ran alternator test. Ran at 14.40 just running but dropped down to 12.59 when everything was on.....AC, lights, radio. I tested it through the battery. So I don't think that's good. But the alternator did charge the battery up when I let it run for longer.

I was reading a thread somewhere else about someone who changed their battery and alternator and PCM but it didn't fix any of the problems.

I'll check connections. I just want my truck to be prefect again without any lights on.

If that was at idle, its *ok*. Check voltage at 1000 RPM, see what ya get.

Checked connections. All looked good and tight. Wiring harness in tact.

Update: just drove it and the truck died on me. Wasn't even a half mile from home. Restarted it and drove it Home. Code is now p0339. Again. For the crankshaft position sensor. Oh my god I'm going to burn her to the ground.

Hhhmmm...... Possible causes:

  • Damaged crankshaft position sensor
  • Damage to the sensor’s connectors
  • Damage to the sensor’s wiring harness
  • Broken reluctor rings or missing teeth
  • Damage caused by a broken timing belt wrapping around the sensor system
  • Failed PCM (rare)
The sensor is new... and a mopar unit, right? So, check the easy stuff first. (for relative values of "easy"....) Run the wiring harness, make sure you don't have a pinched, or broken wire. The code is actually whining about "wrong voltage".... or something along those lines. Might want to verify that it is getting the proper reference signal. (should be right about 5 volts, I think.)
