Question Front end bang

First- I'm new to the forum so forgive me if I am bringing up a problem that has been discussed already. I've searched here and many other sites trying to figure out my truck issue.
Second-I've replaced all the parts I can think of. I have had the truck to a trusted shop twice and they say everything is tight and solid.
Third- the problem, I have a loud single bang (metal on metal) on the front of the truck that only happens when I pull out of driveway and turn wheel after truck has sat for at least a few hours. Doesn't matter if it is forward or reverse. Sounds like someone hitting fenderwell with a wrench or something binding then suddenly releasing the tension?(does that make sense). I've had many friends try to help find problem by having them look while I turn wheel and had them turn wheel while I look both on the ground and with the truck raised.

It is a 2005 quad cab 1500 2wd with 5.7 hemi. With 90,000 miles.

It's steering related. Try the box, shaft, and column

Sorry. Not familiar with 2wd models. Are they coil spring or torsion bar front suspension?

Have a real good look for a broken spring. When they break they usually break a loop at the top or bottom. Top may be difficult to see

I had a bang, sounded like a backfire. Turned out to be the wheel bearing. It was binding, then releasing with a metallic bang.
