New member 2003 ram 2500 5.7 hemi running issue
I have a 2003 dodge ram 2500 hemi. It keeps throwing the etc light. When you start it it bounces off the rev limiter for 2 to 3 seconds. Then it revs up and down between 1500 and 700 rpms. If you tap the gas pedal before the etc light comes on it revs all the way up and bounces off the rev limiter again then throws the etc light aka lighting bolt light. I have had it on the dealers computer and they told me the throttle body was bad. So that being said I bought one and it didn't fix it so I took it back and got another one. Still didn' fix the issue. I'e read on here some guys having somewhat of the same issue. But not excalty the same symptoms. I have also replaced the plugs wires crank and cam shaft sensors and pulled the cover on the timing thinking maybe it was bad and the tensioner was laying on top of the oil pan. So I put a new timing chain in it because it has 285k miles on it. Still hasn' solved my problem checked the purple and white wire behind the intake and it seems to be fine as well. Can someone please help me out here in about ready to burn it to the ground thanks.

The pedal is just a normal gas pedal it doesn' have the electronics it has a cable going to the apps sensor that's under the battery tray. I have read that they run off of a single 5v circuit. Unlike other vehicles have multiple circuits. I have yet to figure out what wiring I need to test exactly. Thought about just swapping the harness out of another truck since I already have it torn apart it wouldn' be that much more to go ahead and pull it. The only codes it's throwing are for the throttle body circuits high. But I'm starting to lean more to something with the computer or bcm. It all started doing this about a yr ago it would throw the etc light and you could pull over turn the truck off and it would start right back up no problem. Then it would get to were you had to diconnet the battery for 15 mins then it wouldn't do it for a month or so. Now all of a sudden it won't stop doing it no matter what I do to it.
