Default 05 5.7 dies after starting

Went to start my 05 5.7 and it started fine. 3 seconds later it died. Did the same thing 2 more times. Disconnected battery for a few and tried again with the same results. It would start fine and shut off a couplke seconds later. Fuel pump was replaced 2 years ago and there were no symptoms before this current problem. I've read that this truck doesn't have a IAC that is serviceable. Fuel pump relay maybe ? I appreciate any thoughts !

Jumped the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump runs fine. Is it probably the PCM ? Anybody ?

Is the security lite in the dash coming on? Is there an aftermarket alarm on the truck?

The check engine light is on and a warning light of some kind in the far bottom right of the dash display. No aftermarket alarm on truck.

Go up to local parts store, have them check your battery....had the exact same problem, it was the battery.

So I'll have to take the battery out to getit tested. Because the only way it's moving now is ona tow truck. If iit starts fine and then dies in literally 2 seconds, does that sound lunker battery? I'm not being an *** , I'm just asking

I have no idea, all's i know is i would start mine just fine....back out of the driveway and it would die, or sitting at a stop light and bam dead. Now it would fire right back up but it was getting worse. Is this your problem IDK but another easy ave to try.

rebuilt my 5.7L Hemi in a 2003, did the same thing, was the crank position sensor. between that and the cam position sensor they will shut the engine down if they are not getting a reading

Mushroomking, The truck literally went from fine in the morning to starting fine in the afternoon and dying in 2 seconds. It didn't show symptoms over time at all. This was wed. evening when it happened. Counting this evening, I've started it a dozen times and every time it starts great and before you can count to 2 it dies.I'll gladly change out those sensors versus having it towed to a shop next week. I was just wondering if your rebuilt experience was the same. Also, no codes showing , probably because when it first happened I disconnected the battery to hopefully reset it. I still have the CEL and the lightning bolt lit up on the dash when trying to start it.

Isn't the lightning bolt something about the electronic throttle?
