My Dodge Ram is running too hot from 1/2 to 3/4 driving it trough out the day it actually has to almost overheat in order for thermostat to open up I've replaced thermostat water pump radiator is only 2 years old checked the clutch fan and replaced the temperature sensor I'm out of clues here I figure running at this hot all the time will eventually blow a head gasket need help everyone I talk to doesn't know what else to do

Harley, You may need to back step on your 'fixings'. It is wise to check any vehicle thermostat before installing it for proper function by the old boiling pan on the stove method, is it popped full open two minutes after water boil starts. (If you still have the old thermo, do the stove boil test to see if it WAS bad at 212 degree water.) ---- Is your fan clutch really functioning? Have you interrupted the straight-in air flow to the radiator by installing big stuff on top of the bumper area as a winch, large light bank? Is the air-dam still installed? --- If you go out in the morning after the engine has set overnight, set your cab heat on high, start and let engine idle for 15+ minutes the rad return hose should be too hot for you to wrap your hand around it for three seconds and check your engine bay heater hoses for being hot too. Make sure your rad over-flow tank is at max with a good line. ---- Reduce some of your chance in blowing a head gasket; Always lift the hood full open for at least 30 minutes after you stop and shut off the engine so it will not set there continue to cook on itself. Always while in stop and go traffic, as traffic light, freeway stops, shift it into neutral. This reduces some of the heat building and trans stress while there isn't any forward air pushing thru the rad. ---- If you do find a solid correction, do come back here and tell the forum in how you got there.
So so sorry. Work n life got in the way.
ok so I'm burping the antifreez the return hose it extremely hot but thermo isn't opening up n I can put my finger in cap opening ( Luke warm) so I take out thermo n it's a 203 n testing it at 210 it won't open so long story short. I ordered a 195 and installed it n everything is back too normal. When did they change my thermo temp to 203. It's too hot no? I gotta read what I purchase for sure.
