Time to switch oils
Osteodoc:
Here is a picture of the Preluber (below the M/C cover).
I've not bought one for a while; they are/were sold directly from Preluber, Inc. They have a pump, logic unit, and synthetic (type escapes me) ball valve; the ball is cnc machined while frozen by liquid nitrogen to assure extreme accuracy. This was done after finding that off-the-shelf NASA valves would not cycle as many times as they wanted without failure.
The last one I bought a few years ago was around $600, as I recall. High, perhaps? But, to protect a $20K+ engine...
Yes, the valve is electrically activated off the ignition switch. The intake oil line runs from the crankcase or dry-sump tank and the other to an ingress point in the engine. One turns on the ignition and the pump starts automatically and runs for about 30 seconds and shuts off, after which one has about 30psi oil pressure at the dash gauge, then one starts the vehicle. I got these for some of my toys after it was shown some years ago how much wear is caused at startup.
All the best.
Forgot, they also had a pre/post luber for turbo apps. We never got them because we just turbo race cars and scheduled tear-downs are more frequent than start-up/cool down wear issues would warrant.
