What color was the plug on the solenoid. Just make sure you got a white or grey plug not a black one.

I got a white plug same as what I removed. I knew the early ones had the gray plug and I told the guy when I ordered it I wanted the white plug. How can you test the plug to make sure I don't have a broken wire? Can you do it from the relay in the fuse box with a test light?

Today I checked the connection on all my new sensors I put in just to double check. Then I loosened the upper tranny line, the pressure line, with the truck running in neutral and fluid shot everywhere so the pump in the tranny works. I inspected my wires to the pcm they look good but I am going to hit them with a meter to make sure I dont have a broken wire. Not sure what I'm doing there but I looked at some wiring diagrams and Chrysler recommended using a test light instead of looking at volts to check the relays. So I will try and figure that out before I start tearing into stuff like the input shaft or even the transfer case. I did notice I no longer have my 4wd light on the dash but my tow haul light works. Not sure if it is the sensor or what. Any other suggestions anyone has please let me know.

Put the rear up on jackstands while testing. You don't want any truly rude surprises.....

Early were Black. 04+ white for 45rfe, 545rfe and 68rfe. Grey plug is for 68rfe and is not backwards compatible. If you fixed solenoid pressure code you possibly could be looking at torque converter. First sign is no forward or reverse. Good thing is its an easy trans to drop but best to check transmission at same time. A rebuild can get pricey because parts are expensive but you already bought solenoids so it shouldn't be too bad. cheaper rout is to check low mileage in junkyards they are getting hard to find with low mileage.

Hey, I am responding to this thread because I had the same exact problem happen to me. I found the problem with mine. It turned out to be the torque converter stripped all of the splines going to the input shaft of the transmission. The transmission input shaft splines were undamaged but the splines in the torque converter were gone. Changed out the torque converter with a 200 dollar oreillys special and my truck runs great again. Hope this helps some people!
