buying a ram, afraid of 5.7 hemi shutting off problem?
I have been reading about the issues people are having the 5.7 hemi shutting off. It has made me kind of gun shy of this new "hemi".
It seems that the 4.7 would be a more reliable option. Does anyone know where there is a good read that will put my mind at ease?
I am going to buy a ram, just not sure I can drive away comfortably with the hemi!!

If you are going to worry over that, don't even bother looking at a GM, Ford, or Nissan product.
GM's piston slap, Ford's shake and blown plugs, Nissan's poor attempt to fix the rear end problem (at least they got the brakes fixed).

i had an 04 hemi ram [got a 05 now] it shut off twice in one day and was hesitating real bad to before it shut off.. it was below 0 that morning the truck was brand new when it happened... had the truck for a year and a half with 24000 miles and it only happened that one day never took it to the dealer either...

Quit reading. Everyone posts their problems. When was the last time you saw a thread about problems people didn't have. 30K and no stalling or other problems with my 5.7. The only issue I had with my 4.7 was the feeling I should turn off the AC just to get enough hp to pass an 18 wheeler.

So it seems that most of the problems are from automatics and when shifting into or out of drive, fair enough, thanks for the info...
Now I feel a better about chasing down my hemi...I will let ya'll know what I got as soon as I drive it home...Thanx
