I thought EGR may be the problem. How would I check to see if EGR is open?

Similar to when my PCM went bad. It did it quickly and could only get it to run my pressing gas. There should be live data if it running that bad. I would expect some codes. Mine had the multiple misfires code. Some bad wiring could have caused the code too. Should be something an experienced mechanic to track down since its not intermittent.

Could this be a valve spring broke. Would that cause hard start, no idle and not running unless you keep the gas pushed down and hold it at about 2000 RPM and not throw a code?

Valve spring would just give you a misfire code, not an injector code.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, but I only got the injector code before I put in a new injector. Now I get no codes and it still has the problem

Compression test may not be a bad idea then.

Did the compression check. All had 120 PSI except number 2. It had 0. Would this be a broke value spring?

Yes. Broken valve springs are somewhat common. Along with dropped valve seats. Time to pull the valve cover on that side.

Well, Pulled the valve cover and found the value spring broke and off the value stem. Also found the push rod bent and off the cam. Could this be easy as putting on a new spring and push rod or could there be other damage than what I see. Thanks for you help

Also with the spring gone should it be dropping down into the cylinder, because it seems to be up in the normal position

Sorry. That valve is more than likely bent. Probably the valve head and the stem. Thats why its stuck up. If you wanted to tinker you could bring that piston up to tdc or close to it and try to gently manipulate that valve up and down and rotate it. It should move and rotate easily. If it doesnt you will looking at removing that cylinder head for more inspection.
