Upgrade Axle Ratio
What axles are in it? Still a pair of D60's? If so, then you can change to 4.10s without having to change anything else. Going to 4.56 would require a new carrier though.....
I suspect you would need to clue in the PCM of the ratio change, else it might get confused, and think the trans was slipping. Speedometer should still be accurate, as it reads wheel speed from a different sensor.

According to Currie, it's 4.10 and down, 4.56 and up.
My major concern about cluing in the PCM about the gear change would be for the trans. PCM is going to see different speeds than it expects in various gears, and may get confused. I honestly don't know if that is really an issue on the newer transmissions though.
