Default Upgrade Axle Ratio

I currently have an 03 2500 5.7L with the 3.73 gear ratio. Can it be upgraded to the 4.10 or do other things (outside of computer adjustment) need to be done?

What axles are in it? Still a pair of D60's? If so, then you can change to 4.10s without having to change anything else. Going to 4.56 would require a new carrier though.....

I suspect you would need to clue in the PCM of the ratio change, else it might get confused, and think the trans was slipping. Speedometer should still be accurate, as it reads wheel speed from a different sensor.

4.56 is a common ratio for the Dana 60, shouldn't require any changes. Ratio doesn't affect speedo, only tire height/diameter.

According to Currie, it's 4.10 and down, 4.56 and up.

My major concern about cluing in the PCM about the gear change would be for the trans. PCM is going to see different speeds than it expects in various gears, and may get confused. I honestly don't know if that is really an issue on the newer transmissions though.

Forgive my stupidity. How do I know if I have the D60 axles? It looks all pretty stock back there. I am in the process of changing the rear diff cover and wanted to look at beafing anything at the process.

Attached is my build sheet. I would appreciate any feedback on what is "Good" as I am unfamiliar on these older trucks.

10.50 Rear Axle.... I believe those are AAM axles, so, not Dana 60. Apparently, it uses the same carrier, regardless of gear ratio.
