Try to have a plan on what program changes you want to make.
Make sure you wait for each step to complete, don't rush.
You will down load the stock program first then upload the new programming.

Been researching cause it reads "vehicle needs an update" when I plug the tuner to the truck. Seems that the tuner I got is a little outdated (V9r07). Problem is I cannot find the update (V9r12) anywhere online. So until I find it, I have a very expensive paperweight. 🙃
PS: Anyone have the CROM file for the V9r12 update?
Edit: found the latest crom file for the predator. Now the issue I encountered is that the serial/USB cable driver provided by DS is not working so I cannot upload the new version on the predator.

Got it to connect. Had to switch computers. My laptop picked it up right away. Managed to get the update (V9r14.crom) uploaded to the predator, but when I went to go plug it in the truck, clicked in "performance tune", it said "missing required data . Please reinstall CROM with DSDL". I'm back on my laptop reinstalling the crom file to the predator. This would be 5 times that I run the install on the predator.
Update:
No success. Having the same issue with the crom not downloading to the predator. When I turn on the predator, it shows the version to be V.9r14, but when I attempt to access the performance tunes, I get the missing required data message. I've been trying to find a way around it, but from what I've seen online, the cable has a counterfeit chip that windows runs a patch for but disables the ability to connect to the predator. I have tried various drivers and driver patches for it, but still no success. At the point where I buy a new cable or just keep at it until I get it right. Pretty much wasted my whole Sunday with it.

Success
I was finally able to upload the v9r14 crom onto the predator. I went to best buy and bought a new USB-serial cable. I plugged it to the computer and the predator and my computer picked it up right away. I didn't have to install additional drivers for it. Once the upload was finished, it asked to wait for the predator to reboot. I waited about 20 minutes and no reboot. I started looking up on the diablosport forums and the admins had said that you can manually reboot if it got stuck on that step. I manually reboot it and vioala, the crom was present. I went to my truck and plugged it and went on to install the 87 octane tune with the MDS disabled. Truck has much more response and MDS is gone. I guess I will be keeping the truck a little longer lolz. On to the next items on the list. First, I will be replacing the Flowmaster and then on to new tires. After, I will most likely tackle the broken manifold bolt. Thanks all who are in this thread for the help!
