So. In the end I had my lower moog ball joints installed replacing stock factory lower ball joints a new axle and bearing hub installed .
He was able too save the knuckle. I was in and out within a 24 hrs. All for 675 bux. Went to hit the alignment rack.

 

All turned out great, congratulations.
Be sure to put the zerk fitting on that tie rod end.

 

Yes sir. Everything did work out well in the end here.
I' went out and put a couple hundred miles on at 65 to 75 MPH .
after alignment noticed some vibrations in the seat and steering
wheel which still felt heavy as well. So I
retorqued leaf sprint u bolts and all the front end
Hardware. Then I loosened up the top nut on the
B6 4600 Bilstien shocks (tuning)..
then set my tire air pressure to specs 35 psi.
And did another 150 miles at that. Everything went really well on
the second run. Vibration gone, steering wheel lightened up but still a tad heavy.
she handles S turns and switchbacks really nicely , she handles better than she did
when i bought it new. Very responsive. Lastly the tires tread wear has evened out nicely.
and my gas mileage is much better. I'm very happy .
Would I do it again ? Without a doubt.

My next task will be new brake pads and rotors

I painted my calipers last brake job, really happy with the look. Went from kinda rusty to clean.

 

Those calipers look great. Do you remember which brand paint you used ?

 

Duplicolor caliper paint. As always with painting, the key is the prep work.
I sprayed the paint on, but the brush on paint will work also.

 

Daaammn Ittt,
so now I have s clunk and bump from new axle on drivers side im just assuming its the new axle.
but it could be a few different areas.

It feels and sounds as if its from drivers side. Intermittently. Happens during full steering wheel rotation towards
Drivers side. Clunking sound. at driveway parking speeds. Just a slow roll. Doesn't sound like a rattley ball joint.
sort of a clunk. From the drivers side axle area or transfer case shaft too case.
Or could it be my bilstiens shocks

Could he of damaged my transmission or transfer case?
the pictures above is what had too happen to get old ball joint replaced..
had too cut the axle and replace it and wheel bearing..
feeling pretty nautioust now..

I have appointment tomarrow AM.

 

Not sure on the third gens, but, the second gens, the shock bolts get torqued to some truly stupid value, and if they aren't torqued properly, they tend to make some odd and strange sounds.

Another thought would be the axle isn't fully seated onto the stub shaft, or the stub shaft into the diff........

 

Okay makes sense. That makes my day better. Fixable . Without extra costs.

 

Okay knuckle knuckle was an easy fix. As a matter of fact it wasn't even my. Mechanics issue.
it was the alignment shop. The kid forgot to tighten down the adjustment bolts on the upper control
arm so today after meeting w my new mechanic.. went through it all component by component.

The alighnmet today added responsive lite feathery to the steering wheel..
the rest of my grey goose jiggles nicely like new.. i am ready too put this one too sleep.
and ready tackle my last 4 problems.

a leaky air filled brake system.
leaky oil filter adapter.
And a long crank and start.
and finally rotors and pads .
