Default Found in trans pan; what is it?

Hey all, I dropped the trans pan on my 48RE (2005 2500 Cummins) and found this. Any ideas on what it is?? Thanks!

Band anchor. There are two bands in there. Which you obviously need to adjust.

Well, yes and no.....

It *shouldn't* happen, but it does. If the trans is maintenanced regularly, then it won't happen. If it's ignored, it will happen. Generally, you can just put it back together, adjust the bands properly, and call it a day. You'll be good to go for another 30K miles or so.

You may want to adjust the front band while the pan is off.
