Default 2006 ram 2500 5.7 l hemi aftermarket stereo problems

Just installed aftermarket stereo in my Dodge ram the only problem is I cannot get it to shut off without unplugging it not sure what's going on with that if I need to hook up a wire to the ignition switch itself but anyting you guys can you give me will help thank you

What kind of installation kit did you use? It sounds like you may have reversed the constant and switched wires. Typically, the yellow wire on the truck side is constant, and the red is switched.

The radio on 2006-up are controlled by the CANBUS system. It is computer controlled. There is a Lockpic system for the Chrysler vehicles to make the radio work correctly.
The radio will stay on for up to 10 minutes after turning off the key or until you open a door. If yours stays on after opening the door, I would suggest looking for this harness. You may be able to wire the power wire to something else in the power distribution bux under the hood if you want to drill through the firewall.

I had to re run power supply to a jumper fuse that had no power when key off, I had same issue
but mines a 3rd gen 5.9 so mostly 2nd gen stuff
