No crank no start
So I'm guessing I will have to get one then? Do y know if I can just get one from a parts truck or do I need a new one? I have hp tuners like I said buti dont think I can write vins with it since it is a dodge..
I would think that a used one should work, and your software *should* be able to update the VIN...... That seems like a pretty important thing to neglect for software you pay big bucks for...... Might wanna chat with 'em about that.
So quick question on the skim stuff. If I do get a skim wouldn't I need a key with the transponder chip in it in order for the skim to enable engine crank? If so then it would seem anticlimactic to get the skim because I have a black key? So if that is the case then It seems my only option Is to get a new pcm or have the dealer flash it? I have created a very frustrating issue for myself which at this point I can only laugh about it.....
I am uncertain.... I would expect if you got the skim module, you would also need a skim enabled key, and possibly ignition switch. (No idea how the system actually reads the key) Then you would have to get the programmed to the truck.
I think it would end up being easier/cheaper to just find a used PCM without skim.
I am not 100% sure on any of this though. Might wanna call HP Tuners, and have a chat with them. I would expect they would be able to answer these questions for ya.
