No crank no start
04 ram 5.7 quad cab. Came out to start it yesterday and it started and then died didnt think much of it and a couple hours later came out to start it again and same thing. Now it doesnt even crank and I cant hear the relay clicking like normal. I can jump the pins at the pdc and itll crank but I still don't hear the "clack" should when the plunger engages everything else like interior lights and headlights radio etc. I've had p0700 transmission generic code and p0562 low voltage so I know I need a new battery. As soon as I take off my charger the battery voltage drops as it has recently but it's always started or at least cranks.
Mine had issues where it did this and even charging battery didn’t fix, when it did start I could keep feathering gas to keep it going (after being boosted) and voltage showed 14….wasn’t till I actually tried new battery when it fixed it. My battery had dead cell that happened almost overnight. Charging didn’t do anything
It sounds like your battery is dead.
Rec that you re-charge your battery to 12.8 volts. Then read battery voltage while someone starts the car.
If your battery voltage drop to 8 or 9 volts and starter doesn't turn, then you have to determine if it is a bad battery or bad starter. Try jump starting and see what the voltage and starter does.
If your battery voltage stays high, 12v or above, then you likely have a ground problem.
From your description I'd say battery is the problem and I rec that you don't replace any parts until you are using a known good battery.
Bad batteries will often fully recharge, but lose their charge quickly under any load.

my battery was so dead, even hooked to my wife’s suv I had to stay on gas or it would die….don’t try anything unless it’s new battery
Thanks for the replies. I figure it is the battery. Voltage drops below 10 when trying to start even with another newer ram 1500 it wont start. The red lighting bolt on dash disappears when I take out my starter relay so I dont know if that means anything. And when i cycle the key back and forth i notice the square will jump back between park and neutral I also dont know if that means anything or if it's just the battery being so dead it is messing with all the electronics. But I'm getting new battery here soon so I will hopefully fix the problem. I also believe I went through some bad gas either had water or gunk in it. I'm not too familiar with the water in fuel sensor or if that can cause no crank. But thanks again. I will return.
So I got a new battery and still the same thing. I turn the key and it does not crank. I hold the key in the start position and the red lightning bolt flashes, but not everytime I do it. I was using my volt meter and at the PDC I was testing the fuses and relays and what not and happened to notice that when testing the continuity I would get a reading across multiple fuses. Is what I mean is I would put on point on the top of one fuse and check either pin from the next or previous fuse. I'm not sure if that is normal or not. But it wasnt every fuse it was just random it seemed. I've tested my sharter both on and off the truck so it works. I'm thinking that my pcm is just trashed but I am in the process of learning how to test that next but any advice would he much appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

A fair few of the fuses draw power from a common source. That's likely why you are seeing continuity. It's also possible that if the circuit is hot at all time, the meter will show continuity, even when it really isn't.
Well after reading many many threads on some sites i believe it is becasue of my skim. I dont even have the module in my truck, never have but using hp tuners I believe I made a mistake using another pcm that might have had the skim module and didnt think about what I was doing. and from what i have read it seems there is no solution to disable it even by selecting disable it doesnt work so i will keep reading but if anyone is familiar with being able to disable it so i can get my truck back on the road it would he of great help. Its sat over a week and i cant make money with it sitting
From what I understand, (and this is pretty thin....) once skim is enabled, it cannot be disabled. Some variety of security measure, so thieves can't just plug in their scanner, turn off skim, and steal your truck.
