Here is a video on a 2006 showing the location. If you're standing in front of the engine, it's right below the right rear corner of the intake plenum. Video sucks but gives you an idea.
The video sucks because that damn thing is buried back there. I had my face pressed into the weather strip when changing out the one in my 07. Had to do the whole thing by feel with extensions.

Default Sorry guys I've been out of town just got back.

Update on my truck. I tore it back down to double check the timing again. When I bought the truck the guy told me it recently had a timing kit on it. Well it hadn't. And when I took the timing cover off I noticed the idler sprocket didn't have a bolt in it. I looked it up and it says there should be one torqued to 25ft/lbs. Could this be my problem.

unless I am missing something you should have two cam sprockets, one center sprocket with two rows of teeth and a crank sprocket, which one are you referring to?

I'm referring to the big one in the Middle the gas 3 sets of teeth on it. The idler sprocket.

yes sir you are 100 % correct and yes she should have a bolt with a very large washer head on it. I reckon it could have jumped a tooth or two and messed the timing up. That would explain a heck of alot.
