Default thanks in advance - springs shocks and mess

so noise in rear end made me look at shocks - i had bilstein in shed - 5100 and installed - i have no travel left at rest - 1.5" inch travel to body of shock , 3 inches travel from axle to bump stop - so image more noise and damage to a $90 shock.... wtf?
there is little weight in rear of truck - <800lbs no trailer attached are a coupe images - i can not figure this out...

Yeah, using your shocks as bump stops isn't very good for them..... Are they the correct part for your truck??

Shocks are way to long. Get the right ones and you’ll be good to go

I don' think I've ever seen the travel shaft on the bottom before. Not on a later model vehicle for sure. There's not much room for travel on compression there. Are they the right parts? Are they upside down?

Good inputs.
Are you the one that installed the lift, or was it lifted when you bought it? Did the rear end suddenly start making noise, or has it been going on for a long time.
I recommend start with the lift, take a look at the lift spacers, shackles, shocks, and bump spacer to make sure they are all correct for your lift.

thanks in advance - i have concluded that the pads under spring are factory - so not lifted - - I swapped out the bilstein with another - viola no issue correct travel et al... in doing this i saw this - - rub on gooseneck plate - i installed this a few years ago so it is not that bad - but my concern is for this to occur means the leaf spring has inverted.... this can not be a good thing - right? thats a lil more than an inch travel vertical

ats

I would think you would be able to hear/feel that hitting..... I don't see any shiny metal there though, so, it isn't "real" recent.....
