Default Replacing the transmission in my 05 ram 1500 5.7 4x4

Running into an issue with getting this heavy sob to line up on the bell housing, in my 99 when I replaced the clutch I used the 2 side bolts to pull the trans into line. This is an automatic transmission and a 3rd gen so naturally it's different from my manual in my 2nd gen. I left the bracket that mounts on the differential and motor/trans which is the side I'm haven't issues with should I remove the bracket? Do I need to brace the motor? Is it a mount?

Are you working on a manual transmission or an automatic? And is the transmission you are working on the same year as the truck?

I'm working an automatic, I'm pulling the transfer case off the transmission in hopes to be able to maneuver it easier, I get to the point where I'm supposed to be able to bolt the torque converter to the flex plate and either the flexplate cover is in the way for me to bolt it up or I end up fighting with the bracket on the driverside. Any chance I could get someone to list some steps on installing it? I'm not a mechanic I just do my stuff myself to learn how to and it's way cheaper haha

The inspection cover should be the last thing you bolt on. Fully seated there should be no gap between the flex plate and torque converter bolt bosses. If you can't get them close enough together, you need to reassess the torque converter and make sure it's fully seated. It should have 3 distinct stops you'll feel as you slide it into the transmission. Initial insertion, rotate - click, rotate -click. Spin it a few times and try again.

The cover keeps getting in the way so I'll try to do it that way. The torque converter is slid all the way into the transmission, I just keep getting hung up on the bracket in front which mounts the engine and transmission to the front differential. 😳

Is that an offroad optioned truck? Sounds like the front skid plate, if so - I'd drop that and get it out of the way.
