Default fuel trim

so i have notice that my fuel consumption is getting used up more and more. so i have looked it up on my scanner the short fuel trim is -.8 / long term fuel trim is -23. so i have looked at youtube videos about it and i still dont get it. anything that has to do with fuel i have replaced. any ideas on parts i need to replace? to get my fuel consumption back to normal?

Those numbers indicate it is pulling fuel..... which should INCREASE your gas mileage. Or, maybe you have a sticking injector.....

so if my injectors are sticking would I smell gas?

Not really. Just you mileage would drop and may get a slight misfire if the injector is sticking. Because lack of fuel. If you think you have sticking injectors. Add some fuel injector cleaner to your next fill up.

Have you looked at your plugs? They would tell you if you have a lean condition, and which cylinders are affected.

Champion auto parts has a good site for reading spark plugs. I would expect the plugs to be dry; it's the color and burn pattern that you are checking.
