Take off the serpentine belt, see if the starter will crank the engine then. If not, then try and turn the engine by hand...... Can you? It's possible your oil pump failed, or something similar, and the engine is just locked up.... If the starter "thumps" nice when you turn the key, but won't roll the engine over, that is NOT a good sign.
This was my next suggestion. Hoping it's not locked up though. Sounds like you took good care of it, full synthetic and all, so I'm not thinking sludge had anything to do with it. I'd be tempted to scope the cylinders, if you have one. See if there is any carnage.
Took the belt off and it tried almost tried to turn. I was able to turn it by hand but not very easily. Scanned for a code and got nothing. I don’t have anyway of scoping the cylinders, I guess I’ll see the damage when it gets replaced. It happened out of the blue but whatcha gonna do?
Before spending large piles of cash, take the spark plugs out, then see if you can turn the engine by hand..... If you can move it at all, that is a GOOD sign. (with the plugs in, you are also fighting compression....)
No water in the oil on the dipstick.I ordered a scope, I’ll try to post pics of what I see. It’ll be next Sunday when I get a chance. Thanks for all the input! Y’all are the best!
Hey guys! I ended up with a new engine. Pro engines out of Elon,NC, $4000 for a long block, 3 yr warranty. About that much for parts and labor and it’s back on the road. Thanks for all y’all’s input
