2003 1500 5.7 l p0108 need help.
Hi guys seriously need your somebody's up with this it's been driving me nuts for months now I got to get the truck smogged in it loses power randomly. I keep getting a p0108 volt and the ETC light.
I have replaced the throttle the map sensor both with aftermarket parts I have also added a ground to verify a good ground to the sensor itself.
I don't suspect any kind of short power as it's the only sensor with a fall. No noticeable vacuum leaks that I can tell. Before the throttle replacement I was getting various throttle faults as well. Just started off as a once in a while type deal then only when it's cold then randomly at any time. Last two weeks I replaced the PCV hose as it was pinched the one from the oil filler neck to the intake. And I reset the throttle it was good for about 2 weeks started up this morning to take it to go get smogged and light came on soon as I turned it on but again it's cold.
This is throwing me for a loop I'm used to Volkswagens these are 108 pretty straightforward it will only happen with a short however from what I am seeing on Dodge it can happen if it's expecting a different vacuum load EG throttle intakely etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just read this morning that it should be around 1 volt at idle I had not find found this information before will be checking that when I get home today as well as possibly replacing with the OEM map sensor.

Matt does a good job explaining things, but keep in mind mopar doesn't use a maf.
I really like using the sub $15 OBD2 bluetooth and the torque app (free or $5). Gets you a long way. A test light, a cheaper DMM, and vacuum gauge are pretty economical tools to have too.
I'd check the sensor wire with a test lamp, unhook both ends and use the wire to light up your test light.

Yeah, I verified my 5 volt reference no short to power that's what led me to a possible bad ground according to the wiring diagram all the sensors share a power and a ground. map sensor and throttle are aftermarket. Everything works fine sometimes for a few days then it hiccups. and boom no power. that's another reason i am leaning towards a wire issue, but if it were the signal wire giving and issue i wouldn't have signal to high, it should be a signal to low, I know I'm overthinking it and it's something simple, I ordered the OEM map sensor today going to try it Thursday see what happens. If anyone has any input and or thoughts it would be appreciated, i don't want to keep throwing parts at it...
I think I would check the vac when its right and when its wrong, same value either way would tell me I've got a purely electrical issue. I'd check the wire, costs you nothing. I had a persistent o2 sensor on my 04 1500... swapped sensors, checked the wire... finally decided it must be the cpu... and that was the fix.
Good luck!

So I got the OEM map sensor volt is around 1.4v 1.36v. Idle did get a lil better but still having the same issue. I'm looking at the aftermarket throttle. 0% at idle along with tops (throttle pedal position sensor.) At 20% tpps I only see 8% throttle. 80% gives me about 60% at the throttle. Sometimes way less. Acceleration does not feel right either.. shouldn't those 2 percentages match? I can see an incorrect throttle reading can cause aap sensor issue. As it thinks it is getting a different airflow than what it actually is. Can anyone confirm this reading?
Ok so.... I have replace the ECM that seems to have fixed my problem for about 5 MI then installed would not idle would not do anything I even had sapphires going on. I got a p0300 fault only no map fault. I suspected intake manifold cracks due to all the issues I've been asking I put a new intake manifold no more backfiring but p0108 static. And it runs like crap at idle especially when it closed loop. Going to bring the boat later home tomorrow and a vacuum tester to see if that's good

this also doesn't explain the intermittent issue since this should either work or not work.... but im hoping this is the end of this rabbit hole... thank you guys for your help will post pictures once im done before and after hope that will help someone later.
so data was all over the place, i finally checked vacuum and found that it was jumping around as well, i had checked bank 2 valve springs and push rods and found ok, like an idiot i did not check bank 1, although everything i replaced was cracked damaged or stripped nothing fixed it, i removed valve cover from bank 1 and their it is BROKEN VALVE SPRING on cylinder 1... ordered parts should be fixed by next week... thank god it was not major, i still cannot believe their is no way to monitor miss-fire counts on this truck...
