Idle problem
2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi
Starts right up cold and idles fine
Once it gets warmed up it starts running rough and stalls out.
If its being driven once its warmed up it will stall out once you let off the gas while driving.
If you try to stop by pushing on the brake and keep your foot on the gas to keep feeding it fuel you can keep it running.
This isnt my truck and its in really nice shape. The guy is selling it cheap because he doesnt know what is wrong with it.
My question is, could this be something really bad that would coast a lot of money to fix?
I work on house from the foundation to the roof, electric, pluming, HVAC and all. So I'm a DIY kind of guy for most things, however I havent done much work on cars to be honest. What Im getting at if its something like spark plugs, sensors, and so on I should be fine. If the engine needs to be torn down and what not, well that is just not something I have ever done or want to get into.
The point is I love the look of the truck it hasn't been driven in the winter. So it sits for a few month each year.
Im just not sure if I should buy it or not, I dont want to get in over my head is all.
I wanted to see if it could be something that would need a mechanic to fix or if it was something I could DIY
Thanks for your time

He had to have the head gasket replaced
So he had all of the following replaced at the same time.
- New head gasket
- New water pump
- New spark plugs
- New coils
- New fuel pump
- New battery
- New throttle body
Some time after having all these new parts replaced he started having this idling problem
