Default Stumped on a 03 dodge ram 2500 4x4

Ok Ive had my truck to multiple different mechanics and the cost is killing me. So if I’m driving the truck normal it runs good. If I stump the gas from a stop or a coast the truck will shut down. I get a lean bank 1 code. Seems like the instrument panel goes black and the truck shuts off. As soon as I let off the gas the truck comes back to life. I’ve had the battery replaced with a Optimus. I’ve had all the connections cleaned (including grounds). I’ve cleaned the k&m filter and new spray, I put a new alternator on it. I’ve had the plugs, wires, and coil packs replaced, I’ve had a fuel pressure gauge hooked up for fuel and that was good. I’ve had it smoke tested and the guy said it was intake gasket leaking and same problem. I’ve had the throttle body replaced with it running a little smoother not doing it as much. But still doing it. I’m stumped! Not sure if a crank sensor or cam shaft sensor could do this or not. Any help would be appreciated tyia

Does the shutdown happen immediately when you floor the pedal or does it sputter out? Are you able to roll into a high throttle slowly or does it reach a point where it shuts down?

Full throttle -> High fuel demand -> Weak or failing fuel pump -> Low Fuel Pressure -> Leans out and stalls

Have you checked your fuel pressure under load?

Yeah, I'd want to start looking at what the sensors are showing like o2 and vac/map, and fuel trims.

bluetooth obd2 and the torque app can help you see what is going on, for less than $25.

Yes the shut down happens immediately when you floor the gas pedal. But if I drive it normal it runs fine. When it does it most is when I’m going to get on the highway and you need to catch top speeds fast. This becomes a safety issue. There is no sputter. When rolled into a high speed it does not do it. My buddy and I used his snap on fuel pressure gauge and strapped it to the window wipers where we could see the gauges. Fuel pressure never dropped. He also has a $7000 snap on scanner and watched all the 02 sensors etc and couldn’t find anything wrong. That’s why we moved past the fuel. After the last mechanic replaced the intake gaskets and the throttle body it is definitely not as bad as it was. Another words it’s harder to get it to shut down. But after paying $1500 for a bunch of work I wanted to know if it was fixed. So of course I was trying to make it do it and it still does it. Just not as much. The mechanic thought it was fixed.

If you can make it happen on demand, then watch live data, and make it happen. Something is getting stupid, and you should be able to catch. Two people for this exercise please, one to drive, one to watch the scanner.

.

so we hooked the computer back up to this and we drove it. I drove and the mechanic watched the scanner. I got it to shut down 2 times. Both times it makes the truck go blank. It also makes the live data go blank. So there is no record of anything. There are no codes on it either. Both the mechanic and I are still stumped. He’s leaning towards electrical. Any more ideas?? Thanks again

Well, it's certainly electrical.... When the truck shuts down, do you get a no bus message on the odometer?

No there is no bus message on odometer showing. But when the truck shuts down i noticed it looses all communication even with the scanner. It happens so fast it’s hard to tell exactly everything it is actually doing. It only last for 2-3 seconds then the truck comes back to life. This time when it did it I noticed the throttle body light lite up on the bottom right of the panel. I also thought that when I left off the gas it came back to life. But I’m wrong I kept the pedal floored and the truck started to come back on its own. Ty again as I appreciate everyone’s help. But we are lost with this truck. I guess it might be cheaper to just bite the bullet and take the truck to the stealership lol.

It really sounds like a loose wire or ground somewhere. But sadly letting the dealer look at it might be the best way to go if it can't be solved.

I agree with this assessment. Gotta be a bad connection somewhere. Think I would start right at the PCM, Make sure everything there is clean and tight.
