Need help rear end problem

Default Need help rear end problem

I just did my u bolts on my 04 2wd ram 1500 cause one slipped over and they wer pretty rusty but now it feels like my rear end is doing its own thing skipping over bumps i got new shocks put on a few months ago and iv noticed people wont drive behind me had family follow me but they dont see anything shes driving really wierd iv checked it out several times now and my passenger tire has lost tread on the outer tire any help would be appreciated

Dang that thing is clean underneath, looks like new

Off hand i dont see anything, did the springs separate from the axle all while doing the swap, Id wonder if your pins didnt get lined up ad your dog tracking a little bit, but by the pictures i dont see any indications of that being the issue

Thanks iv rebuilt the whole truck pretty much except transmission, driveshaft, power steering pump, and rear differential do you think maybe the axle shifted i did do the u bolts on a hill but i made sure every tire was was blocked off gonna lift it up and take wheels off matbe brake is seized but i think i would know that im missing something small cause she drives terrible right now

Looking at the tire wear, I would think the axle was cocked a bit.... If all you had loose was the u-bolts, I might be tempted to crack 'em loose, and make sure the axle is properly on the locating pins.

ok im about to lift it up and check brakes ill do that as well wish i lived on a flat road

Well its not the brakes i tryed to measure rear to front and they are off about half an inch but everytime i even em out bolt it back up it goes back any ideas im starting to think my shocks maybe one is blown so its pushing it they are loaded after all it also seems a rust mark on axle where old ubolts were so i got some regular shocks to put on and try to get them where it was measure it up and try it out and ill let yall know

Disconnect the lower shock mounts, see what happens.....

finally took out axles and diff passenger axle bearing shredded but also found this missing out of carrier can it be reused or replaced cant find that part anywhere online or need a whole carrier surprised it didnt grenade drove on it for a few hundred miles diff is built like a tank

LSD differential??? Looks like one of the retaining clips for the clutches.....
