Default mufflers???

ok basics 02 1500 qc 2wd completely stock, just got it and lookin for a good muffler-my main issue is, should i just get a muffler to improve sound, cuz i know it wont make much of a MPG difference, or should i wait and get catback exhaust, also what mufflers would serve me best, i want LOUD and DEEP, also include prices for the mufflers that would work good for me, i thinkg i can get an exhaust made for like 300ish but i think i just wanna go with a good loud muffler thanks guys...also any other cheap hp gains and mpg gains?...another thing, im lookin at gettin a decent system, im thinkin just a single 12 woofer and replacing the door speakers, what size are they? i just have the stock system, its one in each of the 4 doors and those 3 tiny ones on the dash, so where should i put my woofer? thanks guys

welcome, for exhaust I run flowmaster super 40 cat back exhaust, it has great sound (but loud, not for everyone) and have felt a little increase in the torque department. Totally it cost me about $400 for pipe kit and muffler. cold air intake may het a little HP and MPG, but not much.

I've got a flowmaster 40 series with custom bent 2.5" pipes and 4" chrome tips. The whole set-up was $230.00. Its plenty loud for most people. If you want louder you might try glasspacks.

With the 2.5" out did you see any loss in low end torque?

Magnaflow for me. I like the deep rumble. No noise in the cab. I like adult loud, the Flowmaster 40's are too loud for me. Just my $.02[sm=icon_guiness.gif]

If you want the loudest muffler on the market then go with aero turbine....I have a flowmaster 50 hd, its loud when you get on it, but when you are idling or at 75 its quite......
