DARN I was hoping for a pic of one of your women haha
ORIGINAL: airbrat

When I had my roll pan installed I asked the guys to keep the decal off. I like the clean shaved look (like my women).

I debadged everything from my truck (including the tailgate Ram badge they started putting on 2005's) when I first got it... or so I thought. I didn't even think to get the black bumper guards off of the sides. I think I want to do that now.

I removed all the previous badges using the dental floss and Goo Gone method, but I cut through the middle of the adhesive tape, then removed the rest with my raw (and eventually bloody) fingers. Is there an easier method? Is it safe to saw the badges off with dental floss right against the paint, or better just to go through the "center" of the stuff?

I didn't want to risk getting too close to the paint and scratching it. I cut the foam in the middle also - leaving a heck of alot to clean off. I put some swirls on the paint with all of the rubbing to remove the adhesive. But it gives me a reason to have to buy a high speed polisher to polish out the swirls.

Yeah I just gripped a Heat Gun, Dental Floss and Goo-Off or any of those products. It is a pain in the *** for sure. But it looks sexy.

No holes, just 3m tape holds them to the door.

Where did you get the 3M adhesive remover? How much did it cost? How much did you use? How did you apply the remover? Spray-on or liquid-type (i.e goo-gone)? How did you apply the liquid, did you just run it over the "top" of the emblems? Then saw with the fishing line. Details, man, details!!! LOL.

I picked up the 3M adhesive remover at Checker Auto Parts for $7.49 for an 8oz can. I used about 3/4 of the can for both doors and the tailgate. I soaked the emblem with goo-gone first, and then heated with a hair dryer until adhesive was soft. Then I used the fishing line sawing off the emblem in the middle of the foam tape. After carefully removing the foam left over on the door with my fingers, I applied the remover liberally with a soft cotton cloth to the adhesive left over rubbing lightly. It did not come in a spray can that I could find; this might have made the job easier. I've heard people say they do this in under an hour for the whole truck, but I don’t see how this is possible. It took me a good 8-10 hours and a lot of patients. Hope this helps!
