Attempting to debadge..... Pix Now!
I am going to attempt to debadge my truck tomorrow (Just the Doors and the SLT emblem). Now I have done lots of research in order to get it done right and I dont want to ask any queations that have already been addressed on this topic. BUT, I am a little worried about damaging the paint pulling them off. My truck is an 05 and I only picked it up in November, so the emblems have not been on the truck a long time. I kinda picked at the '1' on the 1500 today when it was in the sun and seemed to start to pull off with little effort. Its going to be a nice sunny day here in Phoenix AZ tomorrow (80+ deg.) so I figured I would leave it in the sun for a couple of hours and try to pull them off with the help of a hair dryer and maybe if needed dental floss. If anybody has any reccomendations or tips thay can share please let me know to make this easier.

I have read about people using WD40. I purchased some 3M adhesive, wax, and bug remover tonight but the warnings on the label about the use of this product damaging the finish are bothering me. So i dont know if I want to risk using it. What about Goo Gone?
Yeah I used Goo Gone when I debadged my 350z. Goo Gone works great to remove the residue glue.
I did this to (3) 350Z's and my other car with no problem to the paint. Just use the fishing wire nice and gently little by little saw away through the existing adhesive.

Don't try to "pull" off the emblems; cut the foam "tape" behind them with fishing line or (my preference) floss. Be patient. Goo Gone will not hurt the paint. Running a little water over the surface, too, can help keep the removed adhesive/Goo Gone mix from resticking. I learned this when it started raining as I was debadging a car using Goo Gone one time.
Then use a non-abrasive wax, not polish, and you should be fine. I debadge everything I own. Why. It is clear the emblems are design after thoughts, ones that are needlessly a bother to clean and wax around.
Best of luck!

Could someone nicely tell me why you would want to debage?

My Stratus R/T is debadged all the way around except for the front bumper Dodge Ram's Head.....and I think it looks sharp. People ask me alot what it is I'm driving. I also think it makes your car a lil more unique, as a majority of people dont do it.
It's simply a preference....and some colors/models look better without it....
