I found these 0-60 times for the 2005 and 2006 Rams Rob mentioned:

2006 Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L Hemi 4x4: 0-60 9.84 seconds
2005 Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L Hemi 4x4: 0-60 8.64 seconds

2006 Ram link http://www.intellichoice.com/reports...odge/model/Ram

2005 Ram link

Thank you for posting that. I didn't expect to have anyone care enough about my claims to look it up. I appreciate your understanding of my point of view.

So... I don't know what's left to say now?

"Nya-nya-nya-nya-nya-nah!"

LOL
I love you all, and I didn't mean to offend any of the 2006 owners, but I've said that what? 3 times now...

You'll always get lots of different opinions and when ya post a very opinionated thread, expect to get alot of feedback. People on www.fullsizebronco.com don't like the HEMI, but it doesn't bother me. (Y'all should see my avatar on that site. ) But I think they both look good, the 2006 grew on me after a while.

Somehow those times dont' seem right. I've never driven a quad cab that slow with a 5.7. Maybe a 4.7 but I think those times are off.
A regular cab should get about 6.8 - 7 seconds 0-60.
A quad cab which is a bit heavier should be around 7 - 7.4 or so especially if everyone's talking about smoking all the other stock vehicles out there.

But over 9 seconds in a quad cab. I don't think so Tim. I know a MegaCab with a Hemi is about there but not a quad or regular. It's also a 7000 pound truck.

I don't believe many magazines or reviews anymore. That famous Truck Trend with the truck shoot out stated that the Hemi RAM was quicker than the Titan by a tenth in the 1/4 mi yet they still posted the numbers as the same?!? The Ram also beat it from 0-50 or whatever. I'm not dissing trucks here. I like and appreciate them all but when I see reviews and numbers posted I'm very skeptical.

Frostbitte.

You have to remember, we are talking about a 4 wheel drive truck - not a 2WD. A 4x4 is going to be slower in acceleration, which is why you see the high 0-60 times.

yeah but if you keep holding out you will never get one! trucks / cars just keep getting better every year.

i have noticed on all car / truck forums, that the people who own the older model are always bitter about the new one. that's not an opinion it's a fact. [:@]

I think thats how I am with my 04.5. I prefer the 04 style to the 06, but maybe I'm bitter that I didn't hold out for the 06s. As for the lack of power, no one mentioned that the MDS from the 300C, etc. might be the problem. Maybe the the thing was just in 4cyl mode????

06 Ram QC..8.6 secs..I belive it is Car and Driver Mag. I read Motortrend And Truck Trend. I believe the times are the same. The 05 is not any faster or slower. The 06 has a Stronger Frame, I think is stiffer thanks to Hydroforming. The Cab and engine is better isolated because of newer design body mounts....Hell, Read for yourself....http://www.internetautoguide.com/rev...006/index.html
Everybody..Get with the program!!!!

i was not making an argument about 05-06 speeds or performance...my quote was for smoking a ford...and REVTECHss
i am plenty grown up, as i have graduated college and taught pre-k, kindergarten, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades; over 300 students in all...so for your little part about "growing up," that in itself was immature. I was making reference to the front body style between the 05 and 06, and i happen to like the 05 better, it looks meaner in my opinon...i do not know why you had to throw a pre-k fit about that...also, there are thousands of posts about performance and racing on this forum, so other people do care, indeed, about "smoking" other vehicles...doesn't mean that i do not realize that there are "more important things in life"...and if you are ever in the realm of Texas...stop by, and i will smoke you, then beat you over the head with my jack and tire iron

I had a 2006 truck rented while mine was in the shop for two weeks, very quiet inside and stock suspension vrs stock suspension it definetly rides and handles better.
Did not like the seats as they were hard and the dash looks cheap as hell.I like the look of the new rams though.Power wise i dont know as it was a 4.7.

Personally, I own the 06 laramie. The grill looks the same as the grill on robs truck, so I'm not sure what he's talking about. It's chrome not blue, but whatever. I personally like the headlights better, and because it's a laramie it doesn't have the crappy front bumper. I'll agree, if its not sport or laramie the front bumper is crap. As for inside, I love it. Headed leather seats in mine, and i've never felt more at home then in my ram. The woodgrain has got to go, and will as soon as somebody makes a dash kit for me. :P As for power, it has plenty. When you can lay 4 strips of rubber, you've got enough power. Response is a little left to be desired. At 60ish, you really have to floor it to get the rpms up. Theres like an area where once the truck is settled in, the throttle is very unresponsive. Thats built more to the casual driver on the highway. More forgiving of long rides. Personally, I like it touchy.

Personally, I like the 06 over the 05. Not that any of its really a big deal, or that any of it can't be fixed with aftermarket. In the end tho, a dodge is a dodge and you've got to love it.
