ram 1500 pulls on highway
I have a 2005 Ram 1500 2wd 18k. Truck pulls significantly on left crown highways(but not on right). Dealer has alligned it 4 times, private shop twice. tires have been rotated. NOT happy with the truck or the service. Has done this since day 1, First alligment at the dealer had 162mi on it. Dealer does not think it's a big problem. Any help would be appreciated.
What does the wear on the tires look like? Are they even all the way across and from side to side? Take a look or post some pics and we can better help diagnose it. Also, are all the tires have equal pressure. Anything really weighting one side down vs another?
No odd weighting, equal tire pressures, no odd wear that I can see (I'm no expert) and tires have been rotated frequently to try and eliminate/find a tire pooblem. I believe as hard as it pulls if I stayed on a left crown for a duration of time some odd wear would be apparent. Someone mentioned a suspension problem? but tough to figure out.
Normally if it is pulling due to alignment, the tires will show unusual wear patterns, so honestly, I'm at a loss regarding advise for your problem.
If the truck is aligned, tires wearing evenly, pressure is the same, etc; I have no idea what it could be. If you had a worn suspension and components, it will feel mushy and the steering will be slow to respond to steering input and feel as if you are wondering all over the road. I honestly have no idea.

Have they tried swapping on another set of tires? Tires can develop radial wear which can cause them to push or pull in one direction. Usually, though, that can be detected with rotating the tires -- the pull would typically follow the tire(s) in question.

There has been several reports of the Rams not driving straight. Maybe I got lucky, but mine has been perfect and still is at 10K. I can take my hands off the wheel and drive as far as the road is straight.
I agree about the tire post. It could very easily be the tires. Alignment is not like it was years ago. The computer systems pretty much nails them.
Oh yea, also document your visits. After so many times for the same issue from what I understand you can demand compensation.

If I am on a left crown and I take my hands off the wheel I'm would be into the wall in maybe 2-4 nseconds!! Depending on amount of crown) Will be calling the dealer tomorrow and visiting soon. I am at a loss. Suspension, tires, bent frame, rims sway bar, still searching but each time on the highway I get more unhappy witht the truck. When someone said their truck would go as far as the road is streight I seriously chuckled!!! Did I mention in general the truck wanders?? 6 allignments-- Have not enjoyed this truck yet!!!!!!!!
It couldd be a bad set of tires. i have had cars with tires on them that cannot be balanced and that negatively affected the handling. it wasnt that the car was modified it was just that the tires were on of the imperfects that can come from a series or batch of tires, as suggested previously, try putting on a differant set of tires and having the truck aligned.
