Default racing questions

i have a few questions.

i have been all over the internet looking at timeslips of stock vehicles (owned by people) and it seems like the HEMI QC has usually has quarter mile times very near the 4.7l QC, but faster of course. Is this true for regular cabs too?

I keep googling " 4.7l qc ram 1/4" to try to find the quarter mile time of a stock 4.7l qc and i kep running into "HEMI HEMI HEMI" and "SRT10 SRT10 SRT10" its aggravating. does anyone know the quarter mile times of the stock 4.7l QC and the HEMI QC.

my last question is... I own a 4.7l QC and i have beaten 2 v6 mustangs in a race before and their stock quarter mile times are 15.5 or near it. the only things i have done is add a K&N filtercharger and custom glasspack duals exhaust and ran my truck on premium sinse i bought it. that seems hard for even my friends to believe and i know that i beat them i was there. well now, one of them talked smack and wants to race his v6 mustang with only dual rear exit exhaust as a mod.

my last two questions are "do you think i would win?"

and my last one is "do you think it would be a good idea to cheat and take out my air filter completely so my computer doesnt have time to adjust and then race it? would it and how bad would it hurt my engine?"

heh the race is drawing near and im broke so i need some last minute advice on how to redneck-rig my truck and cheat 2 win cus they talked so much smack and i cant afford to lose. they might be lying to me also about only having exhaust as a mod.

sorry for typing so long but i need advice.

thank you brothers

If the Mustang is a brand new V-6, you will get owned. If its an older one, youll still probably lose. Sorry to say.

And about being near the Hemi times, do you consider 1.5-2.0 seconds for a QuadCab to be close?

no im saying i see a lot of this..

"my stock HEMI QC Quarter Mile is 16.2xx"
"my stock 4.7l QC Quarter Mile 16.3xx"

and that's what i'm asking about.
i want to get rid of all the BS and hear the truth.

Thos times are sure bs heh. Why would a weaker engine in the same size truck produce virtually the same results? With that math, a reg cab 4.7 should run a 15.2.

Honestly, for the 4.7 QC's, look for times in the 17's.

dragtimes.com i go there sometimes

im not talking 0-60 im talking about quarter mile. that sounds crazy.

go to the last page on dragtime.com and i see a lot of confusion. HEMIs and 4.7s are all mixed up and jumbled up together overlapping and crap

for example

"15.684 86.450 10.046 70.230 2.303 32.0 Dodge Ram 1500 ST 2005 (4.7)
15.803 86.960 10.222 70.380 2.069 78.0 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT HEMI"

and the HEMI there has exhaust and more mods.

anyway, that's not the only website i go to, i visit plenty of others and even forums and stuff and i get the same mixed-up stuff that makes me believe that 4.7 speeds are too close to be believable to the HEMIs in the quarter mile and that is shocking.

PS theres even a HEMI with a quarter mile time of 16.468 that's bad and that's the second slowest time next to the old gen 5.9. and no i dont expect 17's because nowhere on the internet will you find ANY 4.7 with a quarter mile of 17 or more.

and if i had beaten 2 v6 mustangs (previous gen) before (and yes we did race cus im related to both the dudes) then im definitely not in the 17s

i wasnt goign to turn this into a flame war but im telling the truth. i dont know how i did it.

psychology here:

if it was bs he would try to make himself sound like he ran better. these guys got pics of timeslips and stuff.

now i actually did regret getting a 4.7. it was the only kind of motor they had left on the lot for '05 at the end of the year so i got it. if i had headed earlier i would have gotten a HEMI but who cares! i wont have this truck for long in 6 months ill be getting an SRT10. so [sm=shootshoot.gif] on everyone..

peace everyone

if i lose, then i'll just have to drive up in my cousin's charger to make myself feel satisfied for the night
