Standard 40 Series - Two Chamber Mufflers

FStandard 40 Series - Two Chamber Mufflers. This is the most “aggressive” sounding street/strip muffler that Flowmaster offers. If you're looking for attention, this one will get you noticed. The standard 40 series has an “aggressive rumble" and will generally resonate inside the vehicle around 1800-2000 rpm’s, and again at 2400-2600 rpm’s. Constructed of 16 gauge aluminized steel and fully mig-welded for maximum durability

check out>>>>>> http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/mufflers.html for flowmaster loudness scale. look at the top portion of the page.

i would strongly recomend against straight pipe on newer vehicles as they are regulated of of back pressure. no back presure = no engine stability.

not sure which engine you have, but i expermented with my exhaust aaaallooott!! i have a 04 4.7 ltr .....costed me lots of money cause i wanted the perfect good louuuuuddd sound...but i straight piped from the cats and it did not sound good at all ! it was loud, but when you got on it, just sounds like a harley!! did not like it all, the tried straight pipe with a bar to connect the two, like an " H " and that did not sound to good , tried x pipe did not sound, good , tried y pipe --that sounded pretty excellent but wanted a little bit louder and now i have dual 3 inch or 3 1/2 piping from cats to dual v force mufflers with 5 1/2 tips and damn its sounds good, defantely setting off alarms ! basically i did not want mufflers because it restricts the sound , but this was my solution!

I kinda wanted to take out the muffler, leave the cat and the resonator in, my resonator is just befor the tailpipe. If I did not like the sound I would replace the muffler. My only concern was backpressure due to the muffler taken out. Is this a problem?

gibson super truck is loud...like hell itself trying to escape from the tailpipes. I just got a Flowmaster Super 44 which is supposed to be loud, I haven't installed it yet. I don't think my neighbors are going to like it.

ya not having a muffler is bad..you need the back pressure or you will burn up your valves..so iv heard. i think if you got cherrybomb glasspacks thats the loudest you could get. i myself (like pyro) jus got a 44 series in the mail today. got extend my pipes because right now i have a 50 series and its longer than the 44. so i gotta get that done but once its on it should be da bomb!..hopefully

I have a magnaflow 14" muffler and it sounds good. its not too loud and its not too quiet. I would rather hear a nice rumble then a loud crackly exhuast. I'm gonna replace my cats with some high flows and that will make it louder.
