I have a 2002 dodge 1500 4x4 with a 5.9l and Im getting around 10-11mpg. Is there anything I can do to impove this? I am new to the truck world so any help would be awesome.

i have a 2003 qc 4x4 with the 5.9 and on a good day i get 10 mpg these motors arejust slobs when it come to gas mileage, but its a truck they all have bad gas mileage. on the highway i dont even get 14 mpg. i would love to hear other opinions though!

Ditch the extra weight.....spare tire, jack, junk/trash behind the seats. If you can, run 1/2 tank of gas or less (in the summer). Gas adds about 6-7 pounds per gallon......add about 2 pounds of air to the recommended air pressure in your tires (DON"T exceed the max pressure listed on the sidewall!!!) That alone can add a mile per gallon.
