Hey, I have about 500 miles on my new 2006 Ram QC with the 5.7 and MDS. It also has the AWD transfer case and Limited Slip. I cant even chirp my stock 20's from a standstill. Ive tried to powerbrake them once and was unsucessful at 3k rpm's. Im told that some of the 05's and all the 06's wont break lose like the older Hemi's because the computer is recalibrated because of all the complaints from customers about that problem. Im not sure of the truth behind this, but my buddies 06 is a regular cab built everything else the same as mine and he has the same problem.
I have 400 miles on my 06 2x2 quad cab hemi. I can power brake or brake em loose just by flooring it. Did it today for the first time. No problem at all. BTW I have 20's with the 392's

I have an 06 QC Hemi.... I have no problem what so ever breaking the tires loose.... In fact i find it easier lighting them up from a stop than I do going around a corner... I tried that, but got a lot of wheel hop.... I wonder if this is because of LSD ???? but like others have said on here... better to save your tires, plus if you were wanting to come out of the whole quick... spinning is definatly your enemy....

I think almost any car will break the tires in reverse. I was curious a few weeks ago so I was sitting at a stop sign and I floored it and it squealed like a pig. I didn't see how far I could do it tho. Just wanted to see if this '06 could do it. But my friend has an '03 Harley Edition F-150 with the supercharger and even with over 400+ ft. lbs. of torque he says his tires won't break either.

My truck is a 04, QC, 4X4. Race weight with me in it and 1/4 tank is a little over 5900lbs.

When I had the cai and exhaust, I could not break the tires free (maybe a little chirp) either. I have the stock 20's and at the time, 3.92 gears. And it dyno'd around 270rwhp.

I seriously doubt that anyone can break the tires free with a 4X4, QC with 20's with just simple mods like cai and exhaust so don't feel like something is wrong.

Most of the posts you read about blowing the tires away are probably from diffferent combinations of 2wd, 2door, 17" wheels, different gears, more extensive mods, etc.

If you don't compare a QC, 4X4 with 20's, it just doesnt mean anything.

But, I didn't read if you had 20's or not. Do you?

The tire/wheel combo on the stock 20's is big and HEAVY! And hard to spin.

The QC with 20's is hard to break them. Add the additional drag of the 4X4 components and weight and its even harder.

Its not the gearing in reverse that makes it easier (both are 3.00-1), its the fact that the wheels in the rear are trying to push the whole truck in forward, not so in reverse. There is little weight transfer in reverse.

My durango i ahd was 4x4 and had a 360 in it and from a dead stop i couldnt spin the tires and if i tried power braking it it wouldnt even turn them over, it would stall up to 2,000 RPM's and after i let off the break they would break over then no problem, but i have a 4.7L 2wd and it wont spin from a dead stop but its only got one wheel spinning too i hate it.
