that sounds like a good deal, try and push for 20K and see what happens. If they dont do that then try and get the first 5 oil changes for free or get like 500 in free gas or something.

Well I just bought a new Ram 1500 Bighorn edition 2WD with the 5.7 for $18.999......So tell em you'll give them $19K-$17.500 for your trade= $1500 net owed plus tax/license etc. I'd be really calm about it but make it clear you don't really want a wrecked truck.

They can laugh all they want but Folsom Lake Dodge has/had 100 in stock at that price and I had one dealer match that price and another come within $2K. Auto West Dodge in Roseville advertised the Ram 1500 but not the Bighorn or Hemi for 18,888.

I wasn't necessarily looking for another truck (well, I'm always scanning the dealers ad just to see whats out there was hoping prices on SUV's might drop more) but Dodge has been advertising HEAVILY here the past few weeks, I first saw this ad two weeks ago and heard it blitzed all over the radio and started to get my attention, saw it again last week and called to see what the "catch" was...$4500 rebate_+ $1,000 Chrysler loyalty cash and the dealer discount, only catch was I had to use Chrysler financing for a minimum of 6 months, which kind of bugged me. The dealer showed me their invoice "cost" was about $28K with a $900 hold back from the factory. He said their net "loss" was about $4k....not sure I believe that either, who knows, but sure not gonna feel bad about THAT. LOL

I'll try to find a copy of the ad I had, I can scan it and email it to you in a file format.

Hello,

I left my Saturday ads at work for a co-worker to look at.
I will bring the add home tomorrow and scan the "Longhorn Dodge" add for you. They are offering $12,000 off of MSRP (1500 Quad and Mega Cabs in stock).
I did not notice if there was a stock number for only one at that discount or if there were dealer ads.
If I recall correctly, the Dallas Morning News and the Star Telegram run the "drive" auto ads on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

As far as trading your truck or keeping it. If it makes noises or just doesnt look right after fixing it (or you think it will end up like this - if it hasnt been fixed yet), I would definitely trade it. (just my opinion)

Best Regards,
Steve

Do not give in until you feel fully satisfied. If you still feel uneasy about the deal, that something is not right... dont give in. Tell them you trusted them with YOUR truck not theirs and they need to be resposible and make it all right

Damn right...............what I said earlier. You MUST feel you have had a good deal and have been treated right, as it will fester in your mind for a long time that you might have/could have etc, got a better deal.
Make sure your HAPPY and remember, it's not your fault!

Al.
