Default GoodYear 20" Tires ( JUNK)

I have an 05 Daytona 15004x4 QC with the Factory 20" Wheels. The factory tires are JunkYear 275/60/20 HP, 4 ply tires. I went camping last weekend and got 2 flats from rock punctures, these tires only have 14K on them! I was not 4 wheeling mind you this was just a dirt road with some loose rocks on it. I have traveled this road for over 20 years in all of my other trucks never getting a flat! One tire was ruined. So after extensive research I found that the 20 " wheels have a very limited number of replacement tires if you want a 6 or 8 ply tire. BFG has an All terrain 285/55/20 for a whopping $ 315 per tire. Does anyone know of any other 8 ply tires for these rims?
Is anyone else having trouble with their JunkYear Tires?

The factory tires that came with my Ram 1500 with the 20" Rims SUCKED!!!! I have never had so many flats from just daily driving and smooth dirt roads than what I got with those tires not to mention that if you wanted to trade they may not take them because the stock tires will only fit Dodge Rams and no other vehicle so its hard for a tire place such as discount tire to sell them. And its hard to find a nice alterain tire for the 20" rim in that size too. I ended up getting a nice street tire because the majority of driving I do is on the freeway for work and all the camping and hunting I do are not in areas where I need to go off roading to get to it.

Someone had a really good line on what I think was General's at one of the common online tire dealers for an awesome price. It was a great looking tire and surely much better quality than the GY's gargage they put on stock. As for my lack of specific input on brand, dealer and price, it is time for someone else to chime in with the details!

I also never had issues with the Goodyears. Keep in mind these are STREET TIRES. It is unfair to judge how they hold up off road.

ive got the stock 20's with goodyear eagles i believe. Not made for offroad driving at all and i drive a good 20 miles of grid roads to work everyday, check crops down back roads, taken them through mud and never had a problem yet after about 20k. Only complaint is the traction in mud, but thats casue they are a performance tire not made for mud and snow.

Well my goodyears that came stock on my truck would go flat in the summer and while yes most tires would lose some pressure due to the heat and changing wheather bu I have never had a set of tires go completely flat on me at least once a week. I even had them re-seated and checked for any punctures in the tires but know one could find a hole/nail anywhere, and when I would head out over a dirt road that is completely level with no big bumps or rocks I would normally get at least one flat this also aplied if I went down a road that had loose gravel on it. But at all the times there were no holes or anything that would lead me or anyone else that it was punctured. had the rites taken off the rims and put back on and they went on like they were suppose to and nothing looked wrong with them. After switching to my NITTO's everything has been perfect. Maybe it was just a bad shipment of tires that got put on mine but I never heard of any recall and Dodge said there was nothing they could or should I say would do for it.......

I test drove a 2003 hemi QC with General grabber's on it and even when I punched it from a dead stop those tires stuck. That was an awesome takeoff. They are a directional tread pattern designed to help with traction and have heard nothing but good things about them. Not to mention only $166 a piece at discount tire in the 20" size. I also had the Nitto terra grapplers on an older truck of mine. As far as all-terran goes, they felt 10 times better than my BFG's did. Just don't know if they make them to fit a 20" rim on the dodge.

2004 QC Hemi
new owener and love it

go buy a set of BFG all terrains. they look good and if rotated at correct intervails will last 60K+

you may lose 1 mpg. but looks is what matters.

oh yeah. dont look at the price tag for them, the 20" get's expensive.... just buy them....
