Looking for a Ram-need inputs
First off, hello. First post. I'm an ex-F**d owner and I'm shopping. I also posted in another Dodge forum so I'm not hiding anything.
Here's what I'm looking for and I'm hoping someone here can point me to a starting place. 4x4, larger engine (5.7?), bench front seat (at least the split-has to seat 4-5 people), I see Dodge has an off-road package and I'd like that, at least 6 ft bed, won't be a consistant daily driver but has to be there when the snow is flying and we need to get to town or me to work, I'd like a 1500 (just sold a F-350 and didn't even remotely need that size anymore), needs to be able to load up two dirt bikes in the bed (size again) and tow a trailer with 1 or 2 ATV's.
I'd like to stay in the '02 and newer vehicle but I'll look at older. Thanks for any posts.

Any 02+ Dodge QC 4x4 with the Hemi will work. You'll have room for 6 people, 345 hp and at least a 6' 3" bed. The Off-Road package includes some heavy duty shocks and some skid plates. Nothing super fancy unless you go with the Power Wagon. That is one Bad *** 4x4 when comparing stock full size trucks.

RE: Looking for a Ram-need inputs
Welcome. I used to cough cough Own a ford F-150........
When Dodge went to the 4 door 4 door hinges quad cab, this was to give an edge over the super cab trucks that Ford and chvey were building, Back pass room in the Dodge quad cabs is not bad, But has less than new Ford or chevy, if your transporting Kids, or need to move up the front seat ( I'm 6ft 4 ) this will free up some room for the back passengers.
I'm sure the Ram quad has a 6 ft box, But I'm not to sure ( I'm a reg cab, 8 ft box kind of guy ), A utility trailer will solve any issues with the shorter box, as for performance, The hemi races away from any thing but walks to the gas pump, depending on your ford 4.6 or 5.4, you may find the hemi is pretty good on flue, My 2500 reg cab 4x4 ram 5.5 is dam close to the mileage I had in a 04 F-15o reg cab 4x4 with the 5.43v.
I don't know abough the MDS thing, I did not want it and you can't get it on a 2500 Ram, The mega cab is, well not my bag of oats, if your even considering that as an option, step up to the 5.9 cummons D engine, you will have to go to a 2500...
The 5.7 hemi in a mega cab 1500, is not enough engine...

get a 2500 cummins...
they are short bed versions are the same width and length as the 1500. There is way more aftermarket support for the 2500. The cummins is a monster that gets good gas mileage. he ride is not much worse than the 1500. The 2500 will last forever; relatively speacking of course.

RE: Looking for a Ram-need inputs
I just traded my old 2002 Ford F-250 4X4 Lifted 37 inch tires regeared gas hog it was a nice truck but still had the normal Ford truck problems, I love 2006 Dodge 4 door truck it hands down a nicer truck you cant go wrong, But before you buy USED Dodge has some killer deals going on right now I payed $19000.00 out the door for mine I seen use Dodges 1 or two years old on ther lot selling more than I pay for my new one.
So hurry before all the 2006 are gone there some killer rebates going on plus employee pricing you can go wrong.
