ram mpg sucks
The MDS does help if you have a "mature" foot, especially on the highway or those 50MPH country roads..
I can deal with an extra 10-15 minutes on the road if it's gonna save me close to a case of beer in fun money!!!

Abnormally low gas mileage seems to be a common complaint here, and one that I have never been able to understand. I've seen complaints here from people getting that kind of mileage and swearing that they drive sensibly. It's hard to figure, I get 9 Mpg towing most of the time and easily hit 16 to 18, mixed driving otherwise.

I only have about 300 miles on my Hemi Quad Cab 2wd but I've been getting 15mpg. Pretty much what I expected or a tad better for such a powerful engine. My old Expedition only got 13-14 and was much less powerful.
Now my Subaru WRX only gets 20-21, but that's due to a right foot problem that hasn't shown up on the Ram. Yet.

instead of gassing it, let the idle motor move the truck before you hit the gas. Also, learn the habbits of your ECU and try and drive it so that it shifts at 2,000rpm. On the freeway, if cruisng at....say 60mph with the cruise control on (an you wish to move to 70mph) use the gas pedal to gently and I mean GENTLY accelerate it to 70 so that it stays in overdrive. Another thing, what grade fuel are you using? I always fill the truck I drive on 89 (mid-grade) and it made a HUGE differance. I was getting about 12 on regular and now i get about 15 (if i behave). Check tire pressure too.

Last two tank full avg. 18 MPG mixed driving. speed between 45-65 mph. Got to take off easy or your gas will go to hell in a hand basket
