Man that sucks that you sold your truck. Hope you got what you wanted out of it, good looking truck. Gas prices have lowered quite a bit the last few weeks too. I hope you didn't sell it too quick! I've seen it as low as $2.30 a gallon in Ohio.
I was looking at doing the same thing recently, but when I looked at the notion of possibly getting hosed for a few grand on a trade-in and how that same few grand will pay for alot of gas, I said screw it and kept my Ram...
I know in the long run, I did the right thing. Gas prices will always go up...it's a cold hard fact. Big deal gas is down 20 cents...how long is it gonna last? I freakin miss my truck...but I had to do what I had to do.
I'll miss all the compliments I used to get...nobody likes my Neon.

Just got a call from the wife. Gas is down to $2.26 today in the little town of Washington Courthouse, Ohio[:-]. Gotta head out to fill up before it's back up to $2.89 again. [:-]

I had a similar urge once upon a time. I did some quick math and realized that I really wouldn't be saving a whole lot. My wife and I switch vehicles from time to time. Our car gets about 27 mpg on the same commute the my truck gets 15. My ave. commute/lunch driving distance for the week is 170 miles. In the car, that's 6.29 gallons. In the truck, that's 11.33 gallons. Thats a difference of about 5 gallons per week. If I were to put that out to 50 weeks per year at $3 per gallon, that's only $750 per year that I would save by driving the car every day. That's not nearly enough difference for me to give up the convenience of having a truck to haul firewood, home remodeling materials, etc. I can drive the truck half or 3/4 of the time and safe a little off that amount, but I personally think the price of gas is going to go down to more reasonable and sustainable levels over the next couple of years.
I'm sorry that you had to give up your ride, but I'm thinking you could have just sold the extras to make up the difference and kept the truck.

Dude, I have nothing againts you southern folk, heck, I wish I was one. But the whining about gas prices has just gotta stop, lol. I work in the Alberta Oilfield in Canada. Alberta is sitting on, what is close to the second largest deposits of crude oil and natural gas, in the world, Saudi Arabia is numero uno. Alberta makes 75% of all of Canada's oil and gas. Almost half of that is shipped south, via a 24" pipeline to Chicago and several others in fact. I pull this stuff out of the ground, every working day. I produce it and ship it, for what? To go south. Now, this is the point I am getting at. You pay, $2.30 a gallon. One U.S. gallon is 3.79 Liters. We pay $1.24 per LITER of premium fuel, now lets do the math, ok, $1.24 per liter X 3.79 liters in a U.S. gallon = approx, $4.70 a GALLON. Now, wanna tell me how you are getting screwed, lmao? Just lettin ya know what we have here, not cool to have to spend $125 CANADIAN, to fill up my hemi. The American dollar is woth about .17 cents more than the Canadian dollar and if we sit and figure it all out, I may just go postal, lol. Take care guys, you dont got it too bad, Keep the rubber side down
