Default Power issues...

First off, just want to say hello, new to site....

I currently drive a 2003 Ram 1500 Quad 4x4 with the 4.7, Manual tranny.....so far the only upgrades i've done are, cold air intake by Air Aid, Throttle body spacer, free flow exhaust....had the torsion bars adjusted and put some BFG AT 35's on the truck.

My question is, i knew that power was going to be an issue so i'm thinking of purchasing the Superchips Programmer for my truck, is this a wise choice? I'm not too concerned with the MPG's, just my power is a little on the slow side, thanks to the tires (i currently have the stock gears). I was thinking of replacing the gears, but they are a little expensive for my budget right now, so my option was the programmer.....are there any pros or cons out there, anybody else have one?

would appriciate any input, thanks!

marcus

PS: here is my baby, nicknamed "La Troca Blanca" ready for action...this was before the new tires....

Check out this other post that I have included some info on. I have a hemi, but it really helped my truck with throttle response, and increased MPG.

Electric fan Install

Damned if that doesn't look like my 03!!!!

Just run gas from any place other than Citgo or WaWa in her, and use some LucasOil "Top Cylinder" oil in every 3rd tank and you'll be fine.

Yeah, part of me is wishing I held on to my 03, but I'm still tickled with the HEMI and the lack of torsion bars in my 06.

Both are STELLAR light trucks with very capable powertrains.
