whats the difference between a 2 ohm and a 4 ohm sub. is the a sound difference. anything you would miss from the other. 2 ohms seems to be the cheaper way to go since the amps are cheaper since you dont have to get such a big one. thanks

They won't sound different from each other. They are just for different wiring options, depending on what your amp is rated for.

your head unit doesn't supply a lot of power to the amp. you can wire an amp off the factory head unit... the battery does the rest.

a 2 ohm sub operates more efficiently vs. a 4 ohm sub but a 4 ohm stable amp is easier to find and cheaper than a two ohm stable amp. There really is a difference my kicker amp wired in a 2 ohm mode is alot louder than running stereo 2 channel

Not true. it was louder because the amp makes more power at two ohms. the different speaker versions are for wiring options, so you can get the correct load for whatever amp you have.

ie. two 4 ohm speakers will give you either a 2 of 8 ohm load, two 2 ohm speakers will give either a 1 or 4 ohm load.

how is a 2 ohm amp harder to find? all the amps ive been looking at are 2 or 4. and are cheaper to go 2 cause it takes a smaller amp.

I've never had a problem finding a 2ohm amp... and yes, a sub amp rated for 2ohms is a good way to go. how many of what kind of subs are you looking at?
