Default Any "bright" ideas?

I absolutely love my '04 1500 Quad cab, Hemi, 4wd, but..........................the headlights are about the worst of any vehicle I have ever owned. The brights....aren't. The dims with the fog lights on are great. I live in deer country (north central Indiana) and good lighting at night in important. About a week ago I installed the high-priced Silverstars. No better........maybe not even as good as original equipment....they are a different kind of light but I do not believe that the illumination is as good as the originals. The question.........Has anyone found a good replacement bulb that actually lights up the road better than the original "brights"? An aside.......yes they are aimed correctly.........

Thanks for the "ideas"
Gene

You could also try mounting some big lights like hella's behind your grill, then wire them so that they are only on when your brights are on.

Hey thanks, brite box looks like it might work.........$250 is a lot pricey but I am going to see what the illumination looks like ........I can turn on those lights by manually holding the dimmer switch back. It looks like a plausible solution..........I'd rather do that than hang other lights on it though..........

I put 4 hella 500 100w's behind the grill and damn, it's great for driving out in the country. I have family that lives in southern Indiana and it does the trick. BTW - you mentioned deer, the hella's are great for looking for deer out in a field. I think I rated the whole system with brights on at 3.1 million candle power

I'm from the Vallonia/Little York/Scottsburg area. 3.1 is quite a bit for lights in a truck. I think KC's 100's only go up to like 700,000 candle power each. I have mine set up for a nice big spread so it really works out well going down twisted roads because it almost looks around the corners. I'll take some pics later tomorrow night to give ya an idea of the spead and brightness.
