I have an 06 Ram QC Hemi and it warms up in about 5 min., which is pretty quick I would think.

My '05 1500 Reg. Cab takes forever aswell. Right when I pull into the parking lot (10-15 minute drive) the truck is finally warm. The way I got around this is remote start. Start my truck 10 minutes before I leave, and waaa laaa, it's warm!

Slip in a piece of cardboard about 5/8 to 3/4 the size of the radiator. It will warm up quickly. I have this on my Jeep and Honda and don't remove them. It will not cause overheating unless the outside temps start getting on up there.

You see Diesels doing this all the time.

Never heard of that method before but then again it doesn't get to cold in Arizona.

Now do you mean the truck its self doesnt warm up that fast or the heater isn't warming up very fast? With my 05' Reg. Cab 1500 it takes about 3-5 min for the truck to warm up in the morning, and about 5min or so for the heater to warm up. its in the low 40's - high 30's in the morning right now so its not too cold out.

All it does is reduce the air flow across the radiator to allow the engine to heat up faster. Vehicles with electric fans are not as prone to long warm ups but ones with clutch fans benefit greatly. With that being said, the Honda warms up quick but once you start moving, cools off quickly. The cardboard prevents this.

I was surprised at how fast I get heat on my new 06 Ram ST 3.7 6 speed
In about 5 blocks of stop and go driving it starts to put out warm air.
I usually go fast food for lunch and by the time I get through the drive though its warm
as far as heat coming from vents. The engine temp gage doesn't move in that time.
with my old 2000 Dak 3.9 it stayed cold the whole trip.
( back and forth to work )

Doesn't get cold in Arizona?!?! Up here in Carefree it'll get well below freezing. So having the heat take along time is Ridiculous.
