Anyone with 4X4 LOWER their truck?
Just wondering if anyone has done this. I always thought it was ridiculous to lower a 4X4 truck, but lately I've been wanting to do this. You'd have a better loading/unloading height, better gas mileage, and it might even look better with stock size rims/tires. I'm not into rock climbing or playing in the mud so regular tires work for me.
I'm not talking about having a low-rider or anything like that. Just maybe a 2" drop, maybe more in the back. What's the best way to do this? And will this effect how much you can haul? I will occasionally haul up to a 1/2 cord of unseasoned tree rounds.

if you want a lower truck, get a 2wd man. I hate when people lower 4x4 trucks. A 4x4 truck is made to go through **** and have height on it, it will just look stupid if u have a lowered 4x4 dude.
How many of you actually take your truck through something an SUV or a 2WD truck can't get through on a regular basis? My guess is most of you don't. A 2WD truck won't work for me because I go up to the mountains for snowboarding. Don't need a lifted truck for that. I also use the bed of my truck so another reason I don't want to lift it. Most of the lifted trucks I see around here are pavement pounders. Lifted trucks are just for looks unless you need extra clearance.
You could take a look here:

That might give you a few ideas based of Ground Force's kits.

I see what you're saying it just seems like a crime to lower a 4x4, but it is your truck so do what you wish. I would just lower the rear 2 and that's about it though!

Well I don't know exactly how much of a drop I'm talking about. I'm not sure how much 2" would actually look like. How much higher is the back end by the way? Maybe lowering just the back end is a good idea.
I've seen people post mileage gains of up to 2 mpg with a 1-2 inch drop. Better gas mileage, more useful truck. Seemed like a win-win mod for me.

tread carefully on thistopic, when you ask about lowering a 4X4 it seems to be a mojor crime on this forum. i guess we are all supposed to have a 8-10 inch lift in our trucks and super swamp boggers. Slam it, raise it, do what you want to it I mean its yours rite. Ground force does make a nice 2/4 drop kit, which i have seen i numerous Rams and they look good.
